2021 French Creek Iron Tour – June 5 -June 13!
So what will the 2021 Iron Tour look like? The volunteer committee is working to provide that answer in these uncertain times. We will proceed with the hope of providing what we know best and enjoy most, a supported ride on Sunday, June 13, if the health conditions allow. Simultaneously, we are preparing for a virtual, unsupported, forge your own adventure from June 5 to June 13.
One of the many lessons of the Covid-19 pandemic is our need to get outdoors and enjoy the natural environment. Although the staff has been working from home, their work has continued and has been more important than ever. To answer a need for more walking trails for the community during this time, French & Pickering has opened a new preserve, the Great Marsh Preserve, and opened additional trails at the Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve, all for the public’s enjoyment. French & Pickering’s work of preserving open space is now in its 54th year, with many acres newly preserved during the pandemic, many of them providing gorgeous viewsheds for our exhilarating bike rides through scenic northern Chester County.
All who have ridden in the previous 18 Iron Tours have contributed to conserving these natural vistas and areas. Your participation in the 2021 Iron Tour will assure these and even more areas remain that way forever. Please continue to check back as we determine what the health guidelines will allow this year.
